LEVERAGING EVERY RESOURCE AT OUR DISPOSAL TO DO GOOD, BETTER
OUR WORK
The AB InBev Foundation was created in 2017 with a mission to reduce the harmful consumption of alcohol globally and bring scientific rigor to the pursuit of AB InBev’s Global Smart Drinking Goals. In 2020, we expanded the Foundation’s mission to actively work to advance a broader set of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We are focusing our efforts to address six of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals where we can have the greatest impact:
We’re also focusing on the intersection of women’s economic empowerment across each of the six Sustainable Development Goals we’re looking to advance.
FIVE PILLARS
In order to make tangible progress on the six Sustainable Development Goals, we have divided our efforts into five key pillars:
1
REDUCING HARMFUL ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
Reducing the harmful consumption of alcohol across the globe. Through our flagship City Pilots initiative, we develop and test interventions in communities around the world and scale best practices. Our Alcohol Health Literacy projects support this pillar.
2
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Nurturing entrepreneurs where it matters most. We’re excited to share more information on this pillar soon.
3
CLEAN WATER
Providing access to water to communities in need. We’re excited to share more information on this pillar soon.
4
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Promoting development of small farmers and suppliers. We’re excited to share more information on this pillar soon.
5
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Investing in the communities where we live and work. Our COVID-19 response efforts support this pillar.
OUR APPROACH
We are delivering on each of our five pillars through:
Programmatic execution
Testing and scaling early-stage innovation programs and executing on evidence-based initiatives in partnership with government, academia, and civil society.
Evaluation
Measuring and evaluating program success in an external, rigorous, and credible way.
Thought leadership
Leading global conversations on emerging trends through publications and engaging in global forums.
Data transparency
Encouraging publication of all findings — what works and what doesn’t — to inform and support progress across all five pillars both inside and outside the Foundation.
